Cylch Meithrin Trannon is a home from home setting providing a comfortable and happy environment for the children we welcome through our doors. We pride ourselves in offering the best possible care, and the chance for each child to learn and to develop to their full potential. Cylch Meithrin Trannon provide care and education through the medium of Welsh. We are registered with Mudiad Meithrin which gives us access to a wealth of resources, support and training which benefits both children and staff. The setting offers toys and resources of the highest standard, appropriate to the children’s needs, development and ages. Children over the age of 2 are introduced to activities which promote the new curriculum for Wales and early education in order to ensure the best start to their education.

We place emphasis on our outdoor activities and plan our outdoor play areas carefully to provide endless play and learning experiences.

All pre-school aged children will have the opportunity to take advantage of being creative through the Welsh Medium, use their imagination and have fun while learning.

All children are welcomed to the Cylch regardless of colour, race, social class, family situation or educational needs.

We hope that your child will be happy here at the Cylch and benefit from the provision.

Activities

They will include activities rooted in the requirements of the four areas of the Senedd Cymru Guidelines for pre-school children:

• Literacy

• Numeracy

• Social Development

• Physical

All of our learning opportunities are provided through fun, interactive and real-life experiences. We also use lots of songs, rhymes and stories to re-enforce our main teaching aim; that every child is able to communicate and contribute to group work. An abundance of open-ended resources are available to allow the children to become creative, critical thinkers and independent in their own ideas of play.

Here is an example of the type of activities that will take place:

  • Play and socialise with other children

  • Learn by playing inside and outside

  • Playing with sand, water, dough, playhouse, jigsaw puzzles, toys, board games, bikes

  • Storytime, singing and dancing

  • Every child is given every support to reach his/her potential
